STAR INJURED PET FUND
The following pets are all RESCUES with special needs. We are seeking donations to help cover
their vet bills so we can continue to save more. In these cases adoption
fees do not cover all vet costs. Special cases like these
could not be saved without the continued support of kind people. Please
make a donation so we can keep saying "Yes" to these poor souls. Please specify

Shelter rescue. She has a fracture
in her hip and a pelvis injury that may have healed wrong. She also
has something poking through a ligament. She has 2 knees that
dislocate. The right one is dislocated most of the time and pops in
and out. The left knee is not as bad but maybe because she holds up
her left leg all the time. Brandy needs FHO surgery to start and may
need knee surgery down the road. Femoral head osteoectomy (FHO) will
allow her femur to float back into position with her hip and relieve a
lot of pain from her femur rubbing against her pelvis. This is the
best I can describe it at this point. It was an ear full! Her bill
will exceed $700

She was found as a pup wandering at a
local school. The teacher who took her in passed away, his dogs
were left behind. One of our fosters took Missy in. She was used to
running with her previous owner and got out of their fenced 2 1/2
acres under the gate last Thursday. She was attacked by either
another dog or a coyote but was able to get away and was able to
walk back home. She was immediately rushed to the vet. They think
she's an amazing dog. Missy's vet bill was over $1100.00
Comet was found running in the rain
with this soaking wet cast on. The cast was dirty and yucky and had
probably been on 4-6 weeks longer than needed! The cast had to be
removed and he had muscle atrophy for sometime after. His vet bill was
higher than the norm do to his special needs.

3/05 Granni is a shelter rescue from Apple
Valley (VVAPL). She is a senior Poodle approx. 10 years or older. She
is hard of hearing and had a giant open cyst on her back that
was discovered after shaving away a huge matt. She has little
non-cancerous cauliflower type cysts all over her body that have been
removed. She has been groomed and needs eye meds
for dry eye. She had a dental and some extractions. Don't worry Granni has been evaluated and she is not
decrepit. She is responsive and playful. Granni is curious and LOVABLE.
She does have some vision problems that may improve with the eye
treatment. See more photos and get a full update

Yuki, now named Luca, was rescued off the streets. She was found
following cars up and down by the rail road tracks and she was
bleeding. She had just had puppies which were not seen. She was
rescued and we paid her entire vet bill which included spay and
vaccines, fecal and skin tests. We will not collect an adoption fee
for Luca because we made a deal with a San Diego group. They were kind
enough to take her in and we ate the bill. It was worth it. Luca is
one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met and we just didn't have a
foster home available for her.

12/04 Faith, an Irish Wolfhound mix, was
rescued by a good Samaritan. She had collapsed on the side of the road
when she just couldn't take it anymore. Her body was matted and
broken. She was emaciated and had lost all hope. Upon learning of her
story we immediately donated $300 toward her bill of $600. UAN also
donated $150 to help the vet tech that saved her. Faith had a broken
leg and has to take meds for a hyperthyroid condition. She is still
available for
adoption.
